Heyerdahl, Christopher G. N. (1822 - 1898). Born in Gulbrandsdalen, Norway, Heyerdahl attended its common schools, graduated from a Latin school in Christiania, Norway, and attended a commercial school at Berlin, Germany (Prussia). He emigrated to Americain 1854, locating at Rock River, Jefferson county, Wisconsin, where he married Margaret Kaalstrom (1828 – 1928) in 1856 before moving to Martell Township. They settled on 160 acres in Section 7 to farm. He served as town clerk for over 25 years, county register of deeds, and clerk of the courts. He fathered seven children: Nils, Erick, Hans, Elizabeth, Margaret, Lovise (Louise), and Frederick. Heyerdahl was buried in the Rush River cemetery.
