Biography
Rebecca "Peggy" (Herb) Schneider was born in 1811 in Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States. She was the daughter of Johan Daniel Herb and Christina (Heyman) Herb. She married Daniel Schneider on December 11, 1792 at Schwartzwald Reformed Church in Rockland Township, Berks, Pennsylvania, United States.[1] She passed away on February 16, 1847 in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania, United States. She was buried in 1847 in Salem United Church of Christ in Rough and Ready, Schuylkill, Pennsylvania, United States.[2]
Note
Her tombstone lies across the road from Salem U.C.C. (Herb's) Cemetery. It is anyone's guess whether or not she is really buried at that specific location. She could not be buried in the Church Cemetery because it is believed she killed her husband and then herself.
