Lela Heppler, a widow, (46) is living with her children Napolia (20), Arlene (18), Ruth (16) and Jean (14) along with her brother-in-law Thomas Price (30), her son-in-law Mannell P Mitchell (28) and daughter Mary J. Mitchell (22). Lela is listed as male in the census but we believe that to be inaccurate. The home is rented for $30. Napolia is listed as a truck driver and Arlene works in a price farm department. Lela reports she lived in the same place in 1935 yet her children were all living in Henderson, Kentucky in 1935 with the exception of Jean who was living in Evansville. [3]

Velma Jean Gwaltney, born 18 Mar 1926 died on 14 Mar 1976 at the age of 49. Cause of death was strangulation by hanging. She was widowed and was employed in ad sales for a newspaper company. The informant was her sister, Wandalea Rhoades of Evansville. Her parents are listed as Napolia Heppler and Lela Dayvolt. She was buried at Walnut Hill in Evansville on 17 Mar 1976. [4]
