Biography

James Hendrie was born about 1781 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, son of James Henry (1739–>1785) and Isobel Gall (1740–1833).

James married Elizabeth Wallace on December 27, 1806 in Old Deer, Aberdeenshire[1]. Their known children were:

In 1841, James and his wife were living in Mintlaw in Longside parish[2]. In 1849, James was widowed. In 1851, he was still living in Longside and working as a Post messenger. By 1861, he may have been living in New Pitsligo[3].

James died on August 26, 1862 in New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire[4], aged about 80.
