Joel Henderson was born on 5 October 1853 in Dundas County, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Thomas Henderson and Sarah Robinson.
In 1880 Joel was living on the Jerome and Eliza Lennox farm in Middleville Township, Wright County, Minnesota, United States.[1]
Joel Henderson married Mary Jane Ellis on 3 Jul 1882 in Howard Lake.[2] Their children include:
- William HENDERSON (1882-1935)
- Leslie HENDERSON (1886–1886), died aged 2 months.
- Edward HENDERSON (1889–1923)
- Anna HENDERSON Quast (1892–1944)
- Emma Henderson Bakeberg (1895–1954)
- Eliza HENDERSON Quast (1898–1937)
In 1930 Joel and Mary Jane were living in Middlefield Township, Wright County, Minnesota with their children - William, age 46; Anna, age 37; Eliza, age 31. Martin Quast, their future son-in-law, is living with the family as a farm laborer.[3]
Joel Henderson passed away on 1 March 1935 at the age of 81 in Wright County, Minnesota.[4] He is buried in the Howard Lake Cemetery in Howard Lake, Wright County, Minnesota.[5]
