Henry Hees was born on November 7, 1836, in Germany[1] to Johann Hees and Mary Bauer.
Henry married Alzada Wood around 1857.
Henry died on July 25, 1922, in Morgan County, Missouri.[1] He was a Sargeant in Company E, 5th Cavalry Missouri Militia US Army, CIVIL WAR. He is buried in the Cooper-Wood Cemetery in Morgan County, Missouri.

Henry Hees, one of the pioneer citizens of this county, died at his home near Rocky Mount, Tuesday, July 25, 1922, and was buried in the Woods Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hedrick, at Mt.Union Church.
Mr. Hees, was 86 years, 8 months and 18 days old at the time of his death. He was one of the dependable men for whom all had great respect and love because of his high standing in the community, the good, honest influence he had and his straight forward neighborly good will toward everybody. He came from Germany when 9 years old and was a good citizen in every respect. A large number of family relatives are left to mourn the loss of one whose advice and council meant much to them.
