I made a bit of a mess and made some duplicate profiles unintentionally. Expect to see a few merge requests in the next few days (not tonight - I want to be less tired). I have never made this many duplicates so I am really sorry! On the plus side, I think I have info you don't have and I don't care to manage them so am happy to let you have them.
Thank you for participating in the April 2023 USBH Connecting Challenge and helping us create 5952 profiles. Our new total is 201,351. 250k here we come!
AM Hayes created 402 new profiles during the April 2023 US Black Heritage Project Connecting Challenge.
Hi AM. Thanks for all the great profiles you're creating for USBH! When you create a profile for an enslaved American, can you add the the top level "Category:USBH Heritage Exchange" to each one? That's a signal for our Heritage Exchange Team to come check that the profile has all the categories we use. Thanks! Emma
Emma -- I went to make a profile change & now I have ?? Should I use "USBH Heritage Exchange: Needs First Review"?? Needs Linked when it's a a lone profile? Happy to do whatever will work best for the team. -- Amy
All you need to use is the top level one that says "USBH Heritage Exchange". Then we'll come along and replace it with all the specific ones that are needed for that profile.
Thank you for participating in the January 2023 USBH Connecting Challenge and helping us create 6960 profiles. It was one of our biggest months of all time! Our new total is 174,667.

Thank you for contributing to the December 2021 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.
Hello! We’re putting out a call to all past USBH Connecting Challenge participants. We are only a few thousand profiles away from meeting our goal of 50,000 new profiles for 2021. I hope you’ll be able to join us by adding some new profiles in December. They sign up post is here:

Thanks for adding sources to Ann (Atwood) Charlton (abt.1608-abt.1679). She's not related to me, but wanted her to have a presence on wikitree. If you'd like to be the profile manager, please let me know.
Thank you for creating and editing one of my 4th great grandfathers! I'm about to edit by adding some of the info I have on John J. Brown Sr - please help me improve on it. Larry Flesher
Thanks for the message about Fisher Walton management.
Here's something else I just noticed today. We need to merge my profile on Elizabeth Nelson (Nelson-23004) with your Elizabeth Melson (or Millson), I don't remember which. Please check my Elizabeth Nelson information and I think you'll see that we are actually dealing with the same person and that her maiden name was Nelson (or Nilson).
The handwriting that misled you also misled me--the clerk was evidently copying an old entry of NILSON which he misread as WILSON and the error was repeated over and over and over. I finally researched so much Nelson data that I could see the problem.
Please check into it. Let's make a merger of it.

I see you edited William Aydelott II's bio, but looking at it he's married to the wrong woman. His profile has him married to Ann Mary Melson, who is unattached to any parents. These Aydelott cousins are hard to sort into stacks, but Ann Mary Melson is my 4th g-granny and William II is the wrong granddaddy. The right Ann Mary is Ann Mary Melson was married to William Aydelott. She also married Job Johnson and Jones Ricard. William died intestate so there are reams of documents because his property was split between his four surviving daughters, two of whom were still minors at his death. My 3rd g-grandad Levin Clark acted as executor or at least brought the land division to court on behalf of the girls. He was husband of William and Ann Mary's daughter Esther Aydelott Clark.
Thank you for your continued diligence in documenting our Aydelott ancestors!

Re Elizabeth Dagworthy Aydelott Wells. Yes, her mother did marry again after her second husband, ____ Johnson died. Her third husband was Jones Riccord/Riccard. Martha Dagworthy was the wife of John Dagworthy. Elizabeth is named in Dagworthy's will as a beneficiary. I have added the abstract of Dagworthy's will to Elizabeth's profile, and the marriage between Ann Mary Melson Aydelott Johnson and Jones Riccord to Ann Mary's profile. I'm now going to search for documentation on the Ann Mary Aydelott and ____ Johnson marriage and any other facts I can dig up. What fun!
Stokley is a misspelling. Should be Stockley. Sussex Calendar of Wills, p145: dau of Cornelius Stockley, wife of Joseph Aydelott (Jos .& Frances were admins of her father's estate Dec 12,1782.
Thank you for your note regarding the Ebenezer Spencers (Spencer-6081,Spencer-6082 ). I have corrected the profiles you mention. Do you have a particular interest in this family? If so, let me know; I would love to trade notes with someone who knows the family well.
Hi, thanks for checking in. Yes, looking at the profiles and sources it does look like a good match. Be sure to leave change explanations and if you can organize any of the profiles and/or add/improve the sources, please have at it.
