Biography
The daughter of Robert A. Hawthorne (1828-1908) and his third wife, Emily F. Dillon (1844-1916), Grace Hawthorne was born in Drury Township, Illinois[citation needed] in 1876, residing there with her family.[1] Her siblings included:
- Elizabeth Hawthorne (1858-)
- Jessie Hawthorne (1866-)
- Archibald Hawthorne (1867-1953)
- Minnie Viola Hawthorne (1868-1939)
- Cerepti Isabella (Hawthorne)Schum (1872-1959)
Grace married James Fitch, marrying in Nebraska around 1896[citation needed] and having six known children togethe. They made their home In 1900 in Rawlins, Wyoming, where her husband worked as a switchman for the railroad.[2] By 1920, they had migrated west to California, living that year in Alpaugh, in Tulare County.[3]
Grace Fitch passed away suddenly at the age of 52, in Redondo Beach, California,[4] and is buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.[5]
