Biography
Schuyler Colfax was born in 1862. He is the son of Theodore Haughey and Hannah Moore. He was named after a friend and business partner of his father Schuyler Colfax.[1] He passed away in 1944.[2] In 1895 he was charged with helping his father defraud investors while his father was serving as the President of the Indianapolis National Bank to aid his investments including a glue factory.[3] It appears that Schuyler was kept in the dark about his father's and brother's illegal financial acitivties which largely occurred prior to his becoming employed in his father's Factory the Indianapolis Glue Factory, around 1885 at the age of 23.[4][5][6] He was acquited of all charges by the jury in his trial after one day of deliberation.[7]
