Biography
Violet Pearl Hathaway was born on 14 May 1888 in Logan Township, Comanche, Kansas, United States. She was the daughter of Amasa Albert Hathaway and Mary Jane Crabtree.[1]
In 1900 she was living in Little Elk, Lincoln, Oregon.[2] The household included Amasa Hathaway 74, wife Mary J Hathaway 55, son Athelston L Hathaway 34, son A D Roy Hathaway 20, son Robin L Hathaway 17, son Bartholdi L Hathaway 15, daughter Violet P Hathaway 12, and grandchild Donald Hall 5. Amasa and Mary had been married 34 years. Mary was the mother of 11 children, 10 living. Amasa was a farmer. Athelston was a plasterer. A D Roy was a farm laborer.
Violet Hathaway married Ray H. Stoner on 12 June 1906 in Benton, Oregon.[3][4]
In 1910 she was living in Corvallis Ward 1, Benton, Oregon.[5] The household included Ray H Stoner 25, wife Violet Stoner 22, daughter Dora Stoner 1, daughter Edith Stoner 2, and boarder Violet J I Hancock 23. Ray and Violet had been married 3 years. Violet was the mother of 2 children, both living. Ray was a carpenter, working out. Violet Hancock was an instructor of English literature.
In 1920 she was living in Wren, Benton, Oregon.[6] The household included Ray H Stoner 35, wife Violet P Stoner 31, daughter Eda M Stoner 12, daughter Dora B Stoner 10, son Cecil R Stoner 8, and daughter Alice M Stoner 2 years 9 months. Ray was a farmer.
In 1930 she was living in Corvallis, Benton, Oregon.[7] The household included Ray H Stoner 45, wife Violet P Stoner 41, daughter Eda M Stoner 22, daughter Dora B Stoner 21, son Cecil R Stoner 18, daughter Marie A Stoner 13, and daughter Ona V Stoner 8. Ray worked for the US Postal Service. Violet was a cook in a fraternity. Dora was a stenographer at a state college.
In 1940 she was living in Corvallis Election Precinct 5, Benton, Oregon.[8] The household included Ray H Stoner 55, wife Violet Stoner 51, and daughter Virginia Stoner 18. Ray was a parcel post carrier for the post office.
Violet Pearl Stoner married Claude Buchanan on 23 November 1955 in Oregon. She was the daughter of Amasa Hathaway and Mary Jane Crabtree.[9]
Violet died on 14 July 1969 in Benton.[10]
Violet is buried in Oak Lawn Memorial Park, Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon with a death date of 1969.[11]
