Laurence Hastings was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

"In 1328 Laurence Hastings had been married as a child of eight to Agnes Mortimer, in the presence of King Edward III. In 1330 Agnes's father was executed. When Laurence was old enough, the marriage was consummated and John, their only child, was born on 29 August 1347 at Sutton Valence, a Hastings manor in Kent. Exactly one year later Laurence died and John spent his early years in his mother's care. " (Ref: ODNB)
