He was the youngest son.
Prior to the war he was a Stockman.
He served in WWI with the 10th Light Horse Regiment, A Squadron D troop. S/N 112. He was friends from Albany with John Playne and Geoffrey Drake-Brockman and attempted to climb the Pyramids with them. He had some of his letters home published in the local newspaper.
He died during the Battle of Hill 60 at Gallipoli. D troop of A Squadron had very little cover and suffered heavy losses.
