Research Notes

  • Date of death may be incorrect on headstone; should be 1884.
  • There is a 1936 University of Pennsylvania thesis about the life and work of Almira Hart. See images for the Franklin (University of Pennsylvania library catalog) bibliographical record.
  • Can't tell exactly how to categorize this one. Mrs. Phelps was the editor of this volume published in 1864:
Our country, in its relations to the past, present and future. A national book, consisting of original articles in prose and verse, contributed by American writers, by Mrs. Lincoln Phelps (1793 - 1884), editor. (Baltimore, Maryland: Printed by J. D. Toy, 1864). It has a clear "Northern" focus. Several editions of this book are available at The Internet Archive (archive.org); accessed 6 September 2022.
