I am working with a particular piece of property in what is now Jasper County, South Carolina - Fife Plantation. There is a (mostly) unmarked burial ground of enslaved people there and I am working to find descendants of those who may be buried there. I have a list from 1851 of those enslaved there in family units as well as first and last names of freedmen from Freedmen Bureau records of those who received possessory titles through Field Order no 15, as well as later labor contracts from 1866 and 1867. Many people left this plantation and lived in nearby Levy/Hardeeville SC. If you are interested in this research please contact me.

Wow, you are a good soul. I came across your work winding through attempts to connect my enslavers with DNA matches to more family. I made a beginners luck connection right away. Then reality set in for the remainder lol I love the puzzle though. I am looking at the Hagar Jenkens family btw

Thank you so much. I hope it helps connect people with their ancestors. Is Hagar Jenkins from the Beaufort county area? All best Eleanor
