Biography

When Thomas Harris was born in 1710 in Queen Anne's, Maryland, his father, Edward, was 40 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 35. He married Elizabeth Turbutt in 1742. They had seven children in 11 years. He died in April 1760 in his hometown at the age of 50.

Mentions tract called "Coursey upon Wye;" at her decease, same lands to William, tract lying in Cecil Co., called Welch Point. To son Thomas and hrs., land on north side of a small branch where James Dudley now lives, tract called "Harris' Plains;" pt. of 2 tracts, one called "Addition," the other "Harris'Hazard." To son Edward and hrs., tract called "Stanford," and all my other lands thereto adjoining being pt. of "Ditteridge Mountmill Ramble," to be laid out by 3 men chosen by my 3 daus., to divide the lands. To dau. Elizabeth, 2 tracts called "Laurence's Delight" and "Johnson's Addition," and all the lands I have right to in Kent Co., being "Snow Hill," "Mill Hill," "Phillip's Choice" and "Posternhole"; my right of a warrant in hands of the surveyor of Kent Co. to resurvey tract called "Chance." To daus. Sarah, Margaret and Mary, tract called "The Beginning;" tract called "81;" several other tracts, such of them as has not already been given son Thomas, pt. of 2 tracts called "Friendship."
