Maceo was born in 1897 to Norman Henry Harris, and his wife Annie Louise Andrews. He was one of eight children born to this couple[1]. In 1917, he married Jessie Hobbs.[2]. By early 1920, he and his wife had two children, and they were living with Jessie's family. [3]. Maceo was working as a policeman.
By the end of the year, he contracted pneumonia which resulted in his death in November. [4].
Maceo's son, Maceo, Jr. grew up to become a Tuskegee airman. He perished in 1944 while on a mission. He is buried in the Ardennes Cemetery. [5].
