Biography
Emma was born on 31 July 1878 at Rowley Regis, Staffordshire, the daughter of Felix Harris and Sarah Ann Cashmore.
In the 1881 census Emma was living with her parents at the home of her paternal grandfather Tobit Harris at 92 Gosty Hill, Rowley Regis. She was aged 2 years. [RG11/2861 74 Pg 30]
The family then moved to Oldbury, Worcestershire.
School admission registers for Chance’s School, Oldbury state Emma, born 31 July 1878, commenced there on 6 August 1883. Her father was named as Felix, a boat loader, of 59 Park Lane, Oldbury.
In 1891 the family was living at 16 Parsonage St, Oldbury. Emma was aged 12 years. [RG12/2265 98 Pg 21]
In 1901 it is believed Emma, aged 22, was a housemaid at the home of Francis and Amelia George and family at 56 Summerfield Cres, Birmingham, Warwickshire. [RG13/2827 97 Pg 38]
