Biography

Edward Authneal (or Othneal) was born on 4 Sep 1879 in Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was the son of Wilson Harr and Mary Mathews.^[1]

In the US 1880 census, Edward was 9 months old and living with his sister Virginia and his parents in Butler Township, Adams, Pennsylvania, USA.^[2]

Twenty years later, the 1900 US census found Edward living in York, York, PA with his parents, and working as a "Haslter". ^[3]In 1910, he was living with his parents in the same place and working as a house cleaner.^[4] That same year, he married Nannie Mickey in York, York, PA on 12 Sep, at the age of 30. ^[5]

Their first child, Sidney Beauvard Harr, was born in 1913 in Cook County, Illinois.^[6] When the 1920 US census was taken, Edward was living in York, York, PA with his wife and child while working as a labourer at an iron foundry.^[7]

They continued to live in York, where in 1930, Edward was working as a laborer at a machinery plant.^[8] The 1940 US Census saw Edward's son married and living with his wife and child with Edward and Nannie. ^[9]

Edward passed away on 23 Jun 1946 in York, York, Pennsylvania, USA. The cause of death was listed as uremia. He was noted as a widower, and had been working as a janitor at the Mercantile Club at the time of his death. He was buried at the Lebanon Cemetery in North York, York County, Pennsylvania.^[1]
