Biography

Daughter of Jacob Harless and Elizabeth Hornbarger.

When she was enumerated in the 1850 Census her age was recorded as 19.^[1]

Nancy married Oscar R J Keister 31 May 1855 in Montgomery County, Virginia.^[2] He was son of Do. and Eliz. Keister.

In 1860 in Montgomery County, the Keisters were parents of two daughters: Harriet E age 2 and Amanda M., age 1.^[3]

Blacksburg, Montgomery County, Virginia was the home of the Keister family in 1870. They had children: Amanda M, Margaret A, Jacob R, Luvinia E and Mandona F., age 1.^[4]

The family was living in Blacksburg in 1880.^[5]

In 1900 her husband Oscar was listed as widowed and living with his daughter, Maggie A. Broce.^[6]
