Benjamin Hargis is a part of US Black heritage.
Benjamin was born about 1852 in Missouri. He was the son of Green Hargis and Peggie Ann Smith.
In the 1870 census Benj (age 21), Laborer, was in Caldwell, Texas. He was living with his mother Margaret ("Peggy") Hargis and 5 other possible siblings.[1]
In the 1880 census Benjamin (age 27), Farm Laborer, was the married head of household in Caldwell, Texas, United States. He was living with wife Operia and 6 children.[2]
Ben married Maggie Jeffrey on 15 March 1898 in Caldwell, Texas, United States.[3]
In the 1900 census Ben (age 48), Farmer, was the married head of household in Justice Precinct 1, Caldwell, Texas. He was living with wife Maggie, one son and a step-daughter.[4]
Ben died (age 73) on 14 July 1921 in Taylor, Williamson, Texas, United States.[5].Benjaminwas buried in Taylor City Cemetery, Taylor, Williamson County, Texas, United States.[6]
