Charles Edwin Haralson was born in Conroe, Texas on 13 May 1917 to Charles Cleveland Haralson and Willie Mae Gwin.[1] He married Nancy Ethel Sartain on 20 May 1939 in San Benito, Texas. They had 3 known children. Charles worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He died of carcinomatosis and lung cancer on 4 September 1979 in Laredo, Texas.[2][3] He is buried in the Masonic section at Laredo City Cemetery.[4]
Couple Wed In San Benito On Saturday
MERCEDES — Miss Nancy Dickinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dickenson, became the bride of Charles E. Harrelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Harrelson, Saturday evening in rites read in San Benito at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. Grant Wagner. Mr. Wagner, former pastor of the Mercedes First Christian church, officiated.
The bride wore a peach colored frock with teal blue accessories and a corsage of peach colored gladioli. Mrs. Alfred Schroeder of Mercedes, was matron of honor and Mr. Schroeder was best man to the groom.
Attending the wedding were the bride’s parents, and Freddie Sartain, and Patsy Schroeder. After the ceremony the wedding party returned to Mercedes for a reception at the Alfred Schroeder home, where other friends were received.
The bride cut the large wedding cake which was served with ices. Mrs. Harrelson. who has lived in Mercedes for the past two years, is a graduate of the Corpus Christi high school. Mr. Harrelson is a local cattleman. The couple are residing in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schroeder.[5]
