John Hands was born on 29 Jan 1750/1 in Middletown, Connecticut.^[1]

Sergeant John Hands served with 6th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

He was a Sergeant in Belding's Regiment of the Connecticut Militia during the Revolutionary War.^[2][3]

He married first Sarah Rockwell on 25 Mar 1784 in Middletown.^[4]

After his wife's passing, he married her elder sister, Elizabeth Rockwell, on 12 Aug 1793 in Middletown.

John Hands passed away on 4 Feb 1840 in Cromwell, Connecticut.^[5]
