Biography

Mary was born in 1889. She was the daughter of Harvey Hand and Celia Carroll. She passed away in 1991.

She was always known as "Carol".

"Mrs Warner was born in Hume Township, Rock Falls. For many years she worked at the Hendricks Drug Store and for the Chester Company. She was married to George M Warner who died in 1952. "Hostesses for the event will be Mrs Warner's daughter, Mrs Victor J (Mary Carol) White of Sterling and her granddaughter, Mrs Lawrence C (Georgia) Morris of East Peoria. Obituary "Carol Warner "Sterling -- Carol H. Warner, 102, formerly of 1203 Sixth Ave., Sterling, died Sept 5, 1991, at Coventry Village, Sterling, following a short illness. "Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, with Rev Thomas Petty, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Allen Funeral Home, Sterling. "A memorial has been established. "Mrs Warner was born Oct 28, 1889, in rural Rock Falls, the daughter of Harvey and Celia (Carroll) Hand. She was married George M Warner May 14, 1918, at the Fourth Street Methodist Church, Sterling. He died June 8, 1952. "She had been employed as a salesperson at Chester's in Sterling for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, since 1913, and a member of the King's Daughters since 1909. "She is survived by one daughter, Mary Carol White, Sterling; one granddaughter, Mrs Lawrence (Georgia) Morris, East Peoria; one step-grandson, Victor White, Tampico; three great granddaughters, two great stepgrandsons, three great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
