Biography

Hannah was born in 1849. She is the daughter of George Hancox and Ann Beach.In 1851 she was living on Queen St., Wrexham with her parents and sisters. George was 28 a Gilder; Ann 30, Sarah Ann 5, Hanna Maria 2 and Caroline 4 Mo[1].

In 1871 Hannah was 12, living with her family in West Derby, Liverpool. Her parents were George Hancox, 48 a Painter and Paper Hanger, and Ann, 51; their children were Caroline, 20, a Machinist; George Thomas, 17 and John, 14, both Paper Hangers and Hannah, 12. George and Ann's granddaughter Mary Catherine Fitzpatrick, 2, was also living in the home, likely Caroline's daughter. Both George and Ann were born in Worchestershire, Caroline and George Thomas in Wrexham, John and Hannah in Llandudno[2]. Llandudno grew dramatically with the development as a seaside resort between 1857 and 1877 and the connection to the rail system a few years before. George and his sons were employed in this residential development[3].

In 1881 Hannah was living with her sister Caroline and brother in law John Jervis in Clapham, London. John is 25, the Manager of a Coffee Tavern; Caroline, 30; their children are Caroline Ann Jervis, under 1 month of age John's sisters Ann Jane, 20, a Barmaid in the Coffee Tavern and Margaret, 13 an Assistant in the Coffee tavern and Maude Warricker, 9 was visiting[4].

Hannah, age 28, married Robert Bryden, 29, a Seaman on 12 Apr 1887 by Banns in the Established Church of St. Nathaniel Windsor, at Edge Hill, Lancashire, England. Neither had been married previously. Hannah's father was George Hancox, a Painter; Robert's father was James Bryden, a Farrier. The wedding was witnessed by George Thomas Hancox (father or brother) and Mary Catherine Fitzpatrick[5].

In 1891 the family was living in Cleethospes, Lincolnshire, England. Robb was 33, a Boatman with the Coast Guard, formerly with the Royal Navy, born in Woolwich, Kent; Hannah 32 born in Llandudno, Wales; their children were Ann H, 3 and George R. 1. George Hancox, 68, Hannah's father was living with them[6].

In 1901 Robert, 43, was a Pork Butcher and Shop Keeper and Hannah, 42, were living in West Derby, Lancs. Their children Ann H., 13, and George R., 11, were living with them[7].

In 1911 Hannah lived with Robert in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Robert was 54, Hanna 53 and Ann 23. Also living with them was John Anderson 15, Robert's nephew and Charles Larson 24, a boarder.

In Jun 1921 Hannah, 62, and Robert, 64, a farmer, lived in Delta Municipality, New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, Residence Religion: Church Of England. While Hannah had been born in Wales, both her parents had been born in England. immigrated to Canada in 1904. While Robert had been born in England, his father had been born in Scotland, his mother in Ireland. They both immigrated to Canada in 1904[8].

Hannah died on 21 Aug 1935 and was buried in Fraser Cemetery, New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada with Robert and Ann Hancox Larson. She was living in Strawberry Hill, Delta, B.C., aged 76. Her obituary mentions a son, George R. Brydon of Inglewood California and one daughter, Mrs Charles Lawson of Strawberry Hill[9][10].
