Biography
"Sarah Virginia Green, m. Ammon Hancock, a leading merchant of Lynchburg, Va, mayor of the town in 1829, 1837, and 1841."[1]. Sarah was the daughter of a Cabell great-grandaughter, Mildren Meriwether Cabell, who married Joseph Kirland Green around 1803. The Cabells were the owners of the plantation which gave its name to the neighborhood where the Hancocks eventually settled.
They appear to have had no children.
