Interested in knowing more about my ancestors, Edward Harmon Hamman and Ida Lee Parr Hamman (my father - Howard A Hamman and my mother's family, Minnie Marie Mitchell married to James Arthur Magill, remarried to Porter Secrest. We have lived in South Texas and I did a 23 and me DNA. Lots of 4th cousins on the Hamman side, but extremely limited on my mother's side. I would like to go back further on each side. I currently live in Houston, TX.
Born and raised in South Texas. My immediate family lived in the Jackson, Lavaca, Dewitt county area. My Dad came from a large farm family. My Mom was from Oklahoma and moved to Texas in the 1940's. I'm not sure what else I need to write, as I am new to genealogy and to this site. I am stuck at my great-grandparents, Emil Hamman (Hammon or Hammann) and Minnie Myers (Minna Myers or Minnie Mairs. He was from Switzerland and she was from Prussia.
Thanks
