Biography
John was born in 1871. He was the son of John Hamilton and Rachel Cassidy. His birth was registered as John William but he was known as John Robert after emigrating to the US. He also gave his birthplace as Scotland or New York in the US censuses and the birthplace of his parents as Scotland. He does name his parents in the 1925 census record and his marriage registration.
He emigrated to the US around 1895 (per 1910 US census). He married Daisy Rutledge in 1904 - they had at least five children together. He was a farmer.
He passed away in 1952.
