Eddie Clifford Hamilton (1909 - 1984)

These memories are from Helen (Gray) Collings on a family sheet compiled by Helen and by Pricia Fern Burk Paulkovich: "Logan Hubbard was killed by being hit (in the) back of the head with pool cue (sic.) According to Clifford Hamilton when body was shipped to Princeton, Mo his mother Jude would not have his body in casket (it was) shipped in, so she had Noel Moss put him in a nicer one. Noel asked Clifford to help move (Logan). Clifford said (Logan's) head had really been laid open. Lillie Gray Evoritt said Jude stayed at her house during time of preparation for funeral. Jude paid all expenses to have him brought back to Mercer Co., and for burial. Arvel Everett Hubbard was killed in a fight at Denver, CO. I remember attending one of the above funerals and the casket was open but a wine colored net was laid over casket to hid (sic) any damages. Lillie Evoritt says Louise Jane "Jude" was real good cook, especially corn bread. Jude made cheese and sold (it at) Lane's Grocery Store in Princeton, MO for a long time. Charles Curtis was brother of Claude Owen's mother."
