Lady Frances Hamilton was the daughter of Field Marshal George Hamilton, 1st Earl of Orkney and Elizabeth (Villiers) Hamilton.
She married Thomas Lumley-Saunderson, 3rd Earl of Scarbrough, son of Richard Lumley, 1st Earl of Scarbrough and Frances Jones, on 27 June 1724.
