John Brown Hamilton was an American physician and soldier. He was appointed the second Surgeon General of the United States from 1879 to 1891.[1]
John was born in 1847. .
John was a Professor of Surgery at his alma mater, Rush Medical College, and as editor of the new Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) (1893-1898). [2]
