Samuel Ham was the son of William Ham, born in 1675 in Portsmouth, He married Elizabeth Glider. Samuel was a minor when his father died in 1693. He was a farmer and weaver by trade and resided on a portion of the original homestead of William Ham, who emigrated from England in around 1635. Samuel and Elizabeth were blessed with nine children, six daughters and three sons: Hannah, Abigail, Elizabeth, Sarah, Samuel, Mary, William, Catherine and Ephraim. Samuel passed away about 1731. Elizabeth passed away about 1735.
