Biography

The daughter of Lyman Hall (1771-1848) and Hannah Sprague (1773-1827), Nancy Hall was born in Greenwich, New York[citation needed] in 1800. Her siblings included:

Nancy married Reuben Inglesbe (1802-1830), the son of Aaron Newton Ingalsbe and Polly Hicks, marrying around 1827 and having one known daughter together, Eliza Ingalsbe (1828-).

Widowed in 1830, Nancy married Israel Ely Jr, his second wife, marrying in 1833[citation needed] and having four known children together. Nancy and her family made their home in Granville, New York, where she owned land in Washington County in her own right.[1][2][3][4][5] Selling her land by 1857,[6] bBy 1860, Nancy and her family had migrated west, residing in Bloomfield, Iowa,[7] residing by 1870 in Moundville, Missouri.[8] Her husband had retired from farming by 1880, residing together in Nevada, Missouri.[9]

Nancy Ely passed away at the age of 82 and is buried at Jewell Cemetery in Moundville, Missouri.[10]
