Biography

The son of Alfred Hall and his second wife, Engeline (Heeson) Hall, William was born in Tecumseh in 1870.[1][2] He married Emily May Hamilton (1873-1932), the daughter of George Washington Hamilton and Lydia Marie Haight, in Tecumseh on August 26, 1890.[3] Their children included:

  1. Marian Hamilton Hall (1891-1965)
  2. Lydia Winifred Hall (1896-1974)
  3. Jeannette Fowler Hall (1903-1991)

In 1900, they lived in Covington, Kentucky, as William worked as an ad salesman.[4] William and Emily divorced before 1910; Emily returned to Tecumseh and gold fever took hold of William. He went west to join the Gold Rush; in 1910, he was a lodger in Denver, prospecting a mine and working on his own account.[5]

William remarried, marrying Alice M. Sprang (1873-1936), the daughter of Jacob P. Sprang and Elizabeth Emmerich. By 1920, he had left prospecting and was working as a salesman for the electric power company in Denver.[6] In 1930, he worked as a supervisor in a real estate assessor's office in Denver.[7]

He is believed to have passed away in Denver in 1933; widowed, his second wife passed away in 1936, residing last in Seattle, Washington.
