Susan was born in 1810. She was the daughter of Samuel Hall and Nancy Steele. [1]

She was officially a midwife, but her medical skill was so recognized that even physicians called her Doctor as a sign of respect. [2] She passed away in 1885.

Family

Susan married four times. Her first marriage was in 1831 to Edward Woolen, son of Edward Woolen and Levina [--?--] . [5] To this union were born the following children:

After Edward's death, Susan married in 1842 to Peter Myers. [6] To this union were born the following children:

After Peter's death, Susan married in 1857, Richard Dickerson Burrus, the son of Jacob Burrus and Virginia Ruth Dillon. [9] No children were born to this union.

After Dickerson's death, Susan married in 1861 for the fourth and final time to Carey Allen Robertson. [10] No children were born to this union.
