Biography

William Hahn was born in Peel Township in 1920. He was the son of William Hahn and Edna Weber.

He married Doris Cassel daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cassel at St. Joseph's R C Church, Macton on June 19, 1948. Matron of honor for her sister was Mrs. Anthony Cybulski. Miss Jean Hahn and Mrs. Arthur Cassel, sisters of the bridegroom were bridesmaids. Flower girl was Miss Sheila Cassel, sister of the bride and James Howlett, nephew of the bridegroom was page. Best man was Mr. Harvey Hahn Wallenstein brother of the bride and ushers were Mr. Edmund Cassel and Mr. Edgar Hahn.[1]

William F. Hahn, of 2 Bluebird Place, Elmira, formerly of RR 2 Wallenstein. passed away on Tuesday April 7, 1987 at K-W Hospital in his 63rd year

Beloved husband of Doris Cassel, dear father of Bruce of Monkton, Ontario, Gerard of Elmira, Marilyn (Mrs. Ross Wells) of Hanover, Timothy of Alma, Beverley (Mrs. Don Seim) of Ridgetown, Linda (Mrs. Harold Brubacher) of Hesson, Susan (Mrs. Ron Zinger) of Elmira and Paul of Kitchener. Twenty-seven grand children also survive. Brother of Lorne of RR 2 Wallenstein, Lauretta Berberick of Hanover, Florence Berberick of Bolton, Mayme Howlett of Elmira, Reta Berberick of Toronto, Stella Cassel of Cambridge and Jean MacDonald of Belgrave.

Predeceased by one son one daughter and three brothers. Mr Hahn was retired from Uniroyal Tire after serving for 34 years.

Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home Elmira today (Wednesday) until Friday morning for prayers then to St Joseph’s RC Church Macton for funeral mass. Interment St Joseph’s RC cemetery. The family will receive their friends at the funeral home tonight and Thursday. Parish rosary tonight at the funeral home. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.[2][3]
