Loraine Clara Gubbels was born on 15 April 1919 in Westphalia, Shelby, Iowa, United States, daughter of Nicholas Anthony Gubbels (1886–1966) and Anna Maria Weihs (1887–1988).

Loraine (22) married Harold Henry Korth (24) (born on 7 April 1917 in Coleridge, Cedar, Nebraska, United States; son of Peter Henry Korth and Ottilia Barbara (Kunz) Korth) on 15 November 1941 in Westphalia, Shelby, Iowa, United States.[2]
Their son was Eugene Frances Korth (29 August 1957 – unknown).
