Biography

I was born in Poland, Białystok. My family from my mother side resided in Łomża area in northeast Poland. My father's family history is more complicated. They came from their 'manor houses' from Lithuania and Ukraine in late XIX and early XX century to Poland in Białystok area.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Thank you for becoming an Honor Code Signatory of WikiTree. I'm a volunteer greeter, here to help answer questions you may have about WikiTree.

I notice you're already familiar with many aspects of WikiTree. However, I wanted to be certain you've received information on WikiTree DNA and GEDCOM features, so I've included them below.

Since you’ve been DNA tested you might want to review Getting the Best from DNA, which will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

You might want to explore and ask questions in our very active G2G forum. You can get involved as much or as little as works for you. Check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!

To contact me, log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure that I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment, on my profile page.

Enjoy the site!

We've missed you. Your Ancestors have missed you. Are you still interested in participating on WikiTree? Please let me know what your intentions are. We would love to see you active again but understand if you are no longer interested.

Let me explain what will happen if you no longer wish to continue on WikiTree, all of your living profiles will be deleted for privacy reasons, all profiles meeting the 150/200 year rule will be opened up and orphaned so others may adopt them and your personal profile will be deleted. I understand how tough that will be after all the work you have put into building profiles. Is there someone you can transfer your profiles to? If yes, please contact me and I will send you information on how to do that.

Thank you for all of your past contributions and hopefully future contributions.

How's everything going?

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi, I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically significant ancestors? I see you have surnames for tags. Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Let me know if you need any help! We're glad to have you on board!! David-Volunteer Coordinator

Hi Piotr

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

NOTE- You cannot add Info until you Volunteer.

Once you volunteer (To add your OWN family information), one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! Glad you joined us.
