Capt. John Grosvenor performed Patriotic Service in Connecticut in the American Revolution.

John Grosvenor is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A048943.

John was born 12 May 1711 in Pomfret, Connecticut to parents Sergt. Ebenezer, Sr. and Anna (Marcy) Grosvenor. [1] John married Hannah Dresser abt 7 May 1733.[2]

John served as Capt. in the French and Indian Wars (1755-1757) and the Rev. War. He served as Capt. of the Pomfret (Militia) Co. in the Crown Point Expedition under Lt. Dyer, Lt. Col. Nathaniel Tyler's Regiment, of which Israel Putnam was a second Lt. In 1763. John served as a delegate to the General Assembly in 1755 and 1763, selectman four times, Justice of the Peace for 3 years, and in 1781 he was chairman of a meeting to collect clothing for the Army. Served on the committee of Safety. [3]
