Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Privacy levels cannot be set to open if wikitree thinks the person could still be alive. You may need to check the radio buttons after the date field. If you have entered a date the the exact/certain should be selected, if you do not have the date then the about/uncertain but definitely non-living should be selected.

Nördlingen Gemindehaus would be the correct place to request birth details for your maternal grandfather, the einwohnermeldeamt handle the requests but it can take some time, they probably only just get your snail mail. Have you checked if they have an email contact?

It seems not the address is

Gemeinde Nördlingen

Einwohnermeldeamt

Marktpl. 1

D-86720 Nördlingen

If that was where you sent your enquiry you should get an answer at the end of the month.

Hello,

I have been researching my family tree. I came upon this site quite by accident and noticed that one member's comments with respect to three linked names, their place of residence and the approximate birth date of the oldest name very much coincided with my family members. I want to pursue this lead and have sent a private msg to the individual involved. I don't understand much about this site as yet, but I will get the hang of it. Thank you.
