Biography

Elizabeth Greyell was born in Bruce County, Ontario, on the 3rd of October, 1863, to Emanuel Greyell^[1][2] and Alice Jane.

In 1871, they were living in Kinloss, Bruce South, Ontario in, the home were Emanuel Greyell(45), Alice Greyell(42), Edward Greyell(21), Abel Greyell(15), David Greyell(12), Peter Greyell(10), H John Greyell(8), Elisabeth Greyell(6), Alice Greyell(4), James Greyell(2)^[3]

She would first marry Charles Allitt on the on the 15th ofApril, 1885 and they would have:

1. Charles Henry Allitt (1887-1967)^[2][4]

She would later marry Thomas Hembrough on the 30th of May, 1898 in Chilliwack^[5], they would not have children together.

In 1901, she would be living in New Westminster, BC, where she confirmed she was a methodist. In the home were Thos Hembrough(47 head), Elizabeth Hembrough(37 Wife), Martha H Hembrough(27 daughter), Lily Hembrough(17 Daughter), Charles HA Hembrough(13 Son), Violet Hembrough(11 daughter), Stanely Hembrough(9 son), and Rosa Hembrough(7 daughter)^[4]

1911 finds the family still living in New Westminster, and in the home are Thomas Hembrough(58 head), Elizabeth Hembrough(47 Wife), Rosa Hembrough(18 daughter), Charles Allitt(23 step-son), and Emanual Greyall(83 Father in law)^[2]

1921, they would live at 518 8th Street in New Westminster and in the home, we find Thomas Hembrough(68 head) and Elizabeth Hembrough(58 Wife)^[6]

By 1940, she was living on Snyder Avenue in Snyder, Kitsap County, Washington, where we find Elizabeth Hembrough(76 head), and Albert Alitt(52 son)were living^[7]. By 1950 they had moved to Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington, where in the home we find Albert Alitt(62 head), and Elizabeth Hembrough(86 mother)^[8]

She died on the 4th of July, 1953 in Fort Steilacoom, Pierce County, Washington^[1] and she would be buried in the Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster, British Columbia^[9]

ELIZABETH HEMBROUGH^[10]

An 89-year-old woman who had lived in Bremerton 22 years, died Sunday in a Tacoma hospital. Mrs. Elizabeth Hembrough of 1139 Hewitt ave., had been hospitalized since last August.

Mrs. Henbrough had been living with her son, Albert Allitt, a PSNS pipefitter who retired four years ago.

Born in Ontario, Canada, Oc. 3, 1863, she lived most of her life in New Westminster, B.C.

She was a member of Pleasant Valley Independent church at Gorst.

Survivors include her son Albert Allitt; a step-son, Stanley Hembrough of New Westminster; three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert Greer of Chemainus, B.c., Mrs. Rose Murray of Vancouver, B.C. and Mrs. Martha Ettinger of New Westminster, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Jackson of Seattle.

Funeral services will be held at Wiggen and Sons mortuary in Seattle at 3 p.m. tomorrow, after which the body will be sent to New Westminster for burial. Mr. Allitt also will go to New Westminster at that time.
