WEDDING
GREENTREE— SHARKEY
The wedding took place on June 5 at St. James' Catholic Church, Peak Hill, of Joyce, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sharkey, of 'Wilga Flat,' Peak Hill, to Edgar, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Greentree, of Richmond.
The bride, who was given away by her father, made a lovely picture, dressed in a beautifully cut frock of all over white lace which featured a long waist, sweet heart neckline and long sleeves, over white satin, and finished with a long train. Her veil, of tulle, was held in place by a halo of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white frangipani and camellias, tied with white tulle and ribbon. She was attended by her youngest sister, Nola, as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of matching all-over lace, and carrying a bouquet of red roses, carnations and chrysanthemums tied with red ribbon. The Rev. Fr. Heath officiated at the ceremony, and Miss Marie Wilcox played the organ. During the signing of the register Mrs. Keith McIntyre sang 'Because.' The bridegroom was attended by the bride's brother, Mr. Jim Sharkey, who performed the duties of best man.
About 80 guests were received, by Mrs. Sharkey, the bride's mother, in the A.I.F. Memorial Hall, where the reception was held. Mrs. Sharkey wore a black crepe costume, which was beaded and sequinned on the bodice, with black and white accessories. The beautiful double decker wedding cake was made and decorated by Mrs. H. Mc- Carron, jnr., and took pride of place at the bride's table. The newlyweds were showered with good wishes for their future happiness as they left by car for their honeymoon which will be spent at Katoomba, the bride choosing a sky blue crepe frock with gold trimmings and navy accessories for travelling. The future home of the young couple will be in Sydney.'
