In 1940, they lived in their rented house Immabalee, Collier, Florida. Their rent was $3 per month. They had moved from Nittan, Florida within the previous five years. The family included Henry Green, 36, born in South Carolina, who completed fifth grade, a lumber mill laborer who worked 40 weeks in 1939, and earned $400; his wife, Rochelle, 35, born in Florida, who completed sixth grade; and their son, Milton, 9, born in Florida, who had completed third grade.[4]
In 1950, the Green family lived in Dania Beach, Broward, Florida. All members of the family were born in Florida, except as noted. The household included Henry Green, 47, born in South Carolina, a construction contractor; his wife, Rochelle, 45, parents born in the USA, who completed sixth grade; their children (likely his children from previous marriage), Henry, Jr., 20, a laborer; Teresa, 19, a maid for a private family; and Anna R., 17.[5]
