Obituary MRS. L. A. IVETT[1] —Mrs. Lucy Annie Ivett, who died recently at the age of 80 years[2] , was a staunch member of the Ipswich Baptist Church, and a lover of home life. Born at Warrill Creek in 1866, the late Mrs. Ivett was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Green.[3] Mr. Green was known throughout Queensland as a bridge builder, and at various times the family travelled to Gladstone, Goondiwindi, and Dunwich. Mr. Green supervised the building of the first bridge over the McIntyre River at Goondiwindi, and jetties at Gladstone and Dunwich. Mrs. Ivett first attended the Sandridge School, which later was moved and became known as the Amberley School. She also attended the West Ipswich State School.
In 1887 she married the late Mr. Joseph Ivett, of Ipswich[4], and the family home was established in Grey-street. Mr. Ivett died in 1932. The late Mrs. Ivett is survived by five daughters, Mes- dames C. H. Phillips (Auchenflower), C. L. Elliott (Ipswich), and L. C. Scurrah (Ipswich), and Misses A. J. and M. Ivett (Ipswich); two sisters, Mesdames S. Murray (Brisbane), and M. Bolton (Kalbar), also seven grandchilddren and eight great-grandchilddren. [5]
