Thomas thanks for your message and I know there is lots to do as regards the Welsh profiles. The team do work on them when they can but a small membership many with other commitments leads to slow progress. I suggest you look at something you may be able to tackle and ask for help in the Discord server if you are unsure. Probably in the counties or chat channel.

Thanks for your answer, Hilary. I'll bumble around on the site and see if anything jumps out at me.

Hi Thomas,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Mickey,

Thanks for your note. Especially about the necessity of having a source *before* posting a profile. I'll certainly be more careful about that in the future. I look forward to hours of fascinating genealogical web-weaving in conjunction with everyone.

Thanks for your greeting, David. I've been "family-treeing" since I was a kid following my mother and aunt to family reunions and to cemeteries all over the Mid-South. Many of my findings are on Ancestry.com, but when I saw the mission statement from WikiTree, I thought it might lead even further into the mists of history. My line from Wales has me excited, but there are thousands of other branches to follow, too. I look forward to exploring the community and its resources.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.

Your welcome is appreciated, Shirley. I inherited my love of family history from my mother and aunt, and have been building my tree for over fifty years. I look forward to working with you and the rest of the WikiTree family. The idea of a one-world tree is a bit grandiose, but exciting. Thanks for your offer of help.
