Biography
Sara Jane Green was born in 1837, daughter of Elias Green and Jane McMillan. She passed away in 1899 and is buried at Jones Chapel Cemetery, Cullman County, Alabama.[1]
Daughter of Elias and Jane Givens (McMillian) Green. She married William Jones Denson on February 28, 1866. She married John A. Hamilton om December 21, 1854 in Cleburne County AL. He enlisted in the Confederate Army at the start of the American Civil War in 1861 and died at the Battle of Chickamauga on September 20, 1863, leaving her with two children, Dussie (Hamilton) Vise and Octavia (Hamilton) Robertson/Carroll. She then married William Jones Denson in Cleburne County AL after the Civil War (he also fought for the Confederacy and returned to his family home in Cleburne County AL after the war had ended). There were five children born to this union: Leonidas Lowe Denson (24 Nov 1866 - 18 Sep 1942), Emily Jane (Denson) Creamer (20 Jun 1869 - 8 Jun 1954), Levi Green "Bud" Denson (9 May 1871 - 8 Jan 1943), Margaret Francis "Fanny" (Denson) Hall (7 Jun 1873 - 18 Sep 1897), and Harriet Georgia (Denson) Walker (20 Nov 1879 - 24 Jun 1963). She is buried in the Jones Chapel Methodist Cemetery, Jones Chapel AL, where her second husband is interred.
