Biography

Marguerite Graton was born 19 Nov 1819. ^[1] Arlee Freiburger, great grandson of Marguerite, believes she was part Indian because his grandfather Peter Trudeau had Indian features such as heavy stiff dark hair and high cheek bones. Also see evidence for Mark (Tom) Gruber-1094. Based on my brother's DNA results by 23andMe, having 0.5% Indian blood, Marguerite Gratton would be 1/4 Indian. Her mother, Marie Judith (Marie) Huot, therefore would be half Indian and her mother, Angelique Gagnon, full blooded Indian. this is assuming French Canadian men married native Americans and not vice versa. Arlee could be wrong and it was Nicholas Trudeau or his wife Marie Anne Seguin, that was half Indian and one or the other's mother would more likely be full blooded Indian. ^[2]
