Alexander, born about 1821 in Scotland, emigrated to Quebec and was a grocer in Quebec City. In the Census of Canada 1881, he was recorded living in Champlain Ward with his wife Mary and the following children: Andrew, Agnes, David, Ann, Charles and Charlotte.[1]
He passed away in 1900 of old age and was buried at Mount Hermon Cemetery, Québec, Québec. [2]
