Margaret (Gow) Armstrong was born in Scotland.

Margaret was born on the 15 May 1785 in the City of Edinburgh, on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, in Midlothian, Scotland and baptized, on the 17 May 1785 at the Tron Kirk Parish Church, in High Street, Edinburgh, Scotland[1][2]. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Gown and Janet Fraser.

She married Adam "Pearson" Armstrong of Drum Colliery, on the 16 October 1810 at Newington Cottage.[3] The marriage was registered in the Liberton Parish Church, in Kirkgate, in the City of Edinburgh and the Parish Church, in the City of Edinburgh, Midlothian Scotland[4][5]. During the marriage, six (6) children were born to the couple:--

  1. Francis "Fraser" Armstrong, born 22 February 1813, Bap. 13 March 1813 in Edinburgh, Parish of St. Cuthbert's, Midlothian, Scotland[6].
  2. George Drummond Armstrong, born 26 January 1815 at Cholmondeston Hall, Cheshire, England, Bap. 2 September 1815, at St. Bartholomew's Church, Church Minshull, Cheshire[7].
  3. John "Gow" Armstrong, born 1817 in Tynrhyd, Aberystwyth, Bap. 3 January 1818 in Llanbadarn-fawr, Cardigan, Wales[8].
  4. Laura Powel Armstrong Montgomery, born 1819 in Tynrhyd, Aberystwyth, Bap. 16 July 1819 in Llanbadarn-fawr, Cardigan, Wales[9].
  5. Adam Armstrong, born 1821 in Tynrhyd, Aberystwyth, Bap. 3 September 1821 in Llanbadarn-fawr, Cardigan, Wales[10].
  6. Christopher "William" Armstrong, born 17 April 1823 Tynrhyd, Aberystwyth, Wales[11].

At around the age of 39, on the 27 December 1824, Margaret passed away at Drummond Street, running parallel with Euston Road, in the City of London, London Borough of Camden, Middlesex and England. Her burial took place on the 28th December 1824 in the Churchyard of Saint Pancras Parish Church, Euston Road, St. Pancras, City of London, England[12].
