George Gordon was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

George Gordon was born in 1563. He was the son of George Gordon and Anne Hamilton.[1]

On 7 April 1599, he was created a Marquess, and on 9 July, together with Lennox, appointed lieutenant of the north.

He married Henrietta Stewart.[2] They had issue:

  3. Adam[2]
  4. Laurence[3]
  5. John, cre. in 1727 Viscount of Melgum and Lord Aboyne[3]
  6. Ann, m. James, third Earl of Mora, 2 Oct 1607[3]
  7. Elizabeth, m. Alexander, Lord Livingstone, d. Jul 1616[3]
  8. Mary, m. as his 2nd wwife on 15 Sep1632, William, 11th Earl of Angus, d. 1674[3]
  9. Jean, m. 1st 28 Nov 1632 Claud Hamilton, Lord Strabane, m. 2nd, 1641, Sir Phelim O'Neile[3]

He died in 1636.
