Biography
Charlotte (Gordon) Holmes is a part of US Black heritage.
Charlotte Gordon was likely born about 1820[1] to Betsey Gordon[2] in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States of America[2][1].
She was likely married to Edmond Giboney Cook.[3] Their known children are David Cook[3] and Fanny (Cook) Strong[1].[4][5]
Fredrick Giboney, Mary Giboney, James Giboney[5] and Adaline Giboney[5] are also likely their children.[4]
Edmond likely died before 1870, as he was not enumerated in that census with the family.[4]
Charlotte and her children lived in Cape Girardeau Township, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri[4] and Cape Girardeau County[5]
Charlotte married Samuel (Sambo) Holmes on 1 Jan 1878 in Allenville, Cape Girardeau County.[6]
In 1880, they lived in Hubble Township, Cape Girardeau County.[1]
Charlotte (Gordon) Holmes died on 17 Oct 1914 in Cape Girardeau Township.[2] She was buried on 18 Oct 1914 at Shady Grove Cemetery.[2]
